Introduction

DOT presents the renovation of Off The Grid Apartment, located in Surat, India. Led by architects Krishna Mistry and Anand Jariwala, this project redefines contemporary living through thoughtful design and meticulous craftsmanship.

Welcoming Entrance

Upon arrival on the 11th floor, guests are greeted by a softly lit entrance foyer adorned with a striking artwork against a neutral grey backdrop. A spacious wooden door, featuring a carved handle, invites visitors into a world of understated elegance and comfort.

Seamless Integration

The apartment’s layout remains unaltered, allowing natural light to permeate every corner of the space. Concrete ceilings and wooden partitions create a linear expanse, while strategically placed skylights ensure a well-lit environment throughout the day. The integration of functional elements, such as hand-wash stations and crockery cabinets, adds to the apartment’s practicality without compromising on style.

Curated Design Elements

Within a monochromatic palette, warm wooden accents and vibrant splashes of red infuse the space with elegance and modernity. The curved staircase, a structural marvel, doubles as a place of worship and a cozy reading nook, highlighting the apartment’s versatility and ingenuity.

Tranquil Retreat

Ascending the staircase leads to a rustic terrace overlooking the Tapi River. Here, guests can indulge in various leisure activities, from brunching beneath the shaded gazebo to napping in the treehouse-like upper deck. The terrace serves as a sanctuary for relaxation and social gatherings, offering a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living.

Harmonious Design

Off The Grid Apartment is a testament to meticulous design and craftsmanship, with every element thoughtfully curated to evoke a sense of minimalism and naturalness. From the modulating floor plan to the exposed beam grid in the ceiling, every detail contributes to the apartment’s contemporary elegance and timeless appeal.

Conclusion

DOT’s renovation of Off The Grid Apartment exemplifies a harmonious blend of contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship. With its seamless integration of functional elements and curated design elements, this apartment offers a tranquil retreat amidst the bustling cityscape of Surat, India.
